The Coronavirus has brought unprecedented challenges to clubs everywhere including Ayr United.
Cash flow will be a significant problem for all clubs and we have the unique benefit of the AU500fund to allow fans to contribute in the absence of income coming into the club.
You can help by paying one-off amounts to sort code-873754 account number- 82216262 or join as a regular member by emailing info@au500fund.com.
All amounts large or small are welcome. Please put your name as a reference for your payment.
Monthly contributions are by Standing Order allowing you to stop, start or amend the amounts.

Thank you for the great initial response to this. Since yesterday we have received £552 into the fund and four people have joined as members paying monthly contributions.

rritayr

Many thanks to those who have contributed to this effort.
We have raised over £1500 in donations in the past week with 7 new monthly contributions members and some existing monthly members increasing their monthly amounts.

great to see the support pull together.

All great. Can you keep support updated on how funds are going, would maybe encourage others, good to be open about things, and maybe we could all contribute ideas for fundraising?

rritayr

Yes, all fund raising ideas are welcome.

Would be good to advertise the above link in local press for general population, who may be inclined to help the local club. Couldn't do any harm.
What about some fund raising ideas? Auction off club experiences, signed photos, merchandise, stadium tours, friendly Jamie Adams match at Stranraer or Somerset, online quizzes, or get a friendly venue for up and coming bands, suitable for all genres, eg. Sham69, East Kilbride band the Dughoose Ska Band, Mud2, obviously for when we're out of lockdown. Maybe not who/what folk like, then suggest alternatives please.

Good interview on P&B, update on players from Mark Kerr, praising support...

Mark Kerr was also on That TV Scotland - no idea why I ended up watching it, cabin fever -  via Skype talking about what we are doing - we seem to be in a different place than a lot of clubs as we have not furloughed anyone so players being given fitness advice, freely keeping in touch etc. Morally, ethically the right thing to do and in principle should allow us to be ready at short notice if everything resumes before contracts run out. However expect when games can be played they won't because lots of clubs furloughed players and staff and fitness levels/pitches won't be right.

Wider football perspective, the 2022 world cup is going to need to be played in winter - move it to Jan 2023 - and sort out finishing the 2019/2020 when they can - figure out something with contracts so clubs can do with current squads - then work the seasons so that the world cup being played in January causes minimal disruption - we might technically "lose a season"

Update via AUFC Site.

QuoteWe are delighted to announce that on 30th March, the AU500 donated £10,000 to the Player Fund.
This is a massive achievement during the current circumstances.

This now takes our total donated this season to an amazing £35,700. We are extremely grateful to all members and fans who have made this possible.

We started this appeal on 14th March as soon as the guidelines stated that all games were cancelled until further notice. We are overwhelmed with the response from fans to help our Club.

We have received an additional 20 new members that are paying to us each month.

In one-off donations to date yesterday, our appeal has received a staggering £3333!

Many thanks to everyone.
