With just a week to go, would love to see the club generate some awareness to try and sell this match, I know there will be the usual cheap, scattered online ads., but it would do no harm to use traditional methods alongside,ie an advert in the what's on page in local press, posters with prices included, along with all the ways to get tickets,(probably too late for that now). Do the club really do all they can to appeal beyond their usual catchment? Also feel sorry for away fans who don't/can't get tickets to their phones, as we don't appear to be allocating their club tickets to sell.

TonyH

Sounds like there's going to be a big away support, hope they've all bought tickets in advance !

Opportunity for Ayr here to progress and potentially get a money spinning tie in the next round. The finance generated would give the club a real boost.Big stakes to play for on Saturday.Hope the players are on a good win bonus for this match.

Jeff Vader

Would be very pleasantly surprised if we get through this tie. Think a lot of people are assuming St Johnstone are no great shakes but I think they will be much stronger than Ross Country.

Ayr are not going to win this game. There I've said it  :-X

(reverse psychology  ;D )

Doyle

It will be debatable if this game goes ahead, 40-45 mph winds, and driving rain is the forecast...... :o

MonkeyHeid

At the moment only about 600 home tickets sold with just under 1000 away. A little disappointing but still time yet for the home crowd.

Such a pity, we're never lucky with weather, maybe some folk holding off to see what conditions are, maybe a place for cash/card gate indeed. Should look at our marketing..make things less complicated and more approachable. To be fair, there's not been a cheep all week. Haven't seen the written media, but won't be surprised if there is very little. I'm old enough to remember us being the bigger club, bigger than them, Hamilton and Meadowbank/(Livy), and league-wise above K*ll@e. Even if we don't realistically expect to win, it should be a chance to see where we are, players should be up for it...?13 years since last fixture between the sides?Hopefully some last min. Publicity will big up the game, maybe weather could be kind over Somerset...as long as no call off two minutes before kick off, how long before a recent home game was most recent call off?

Try6Place

Full marks to the club for their opening hours this week, enabling more ticket sales. Hope the wind doesn't spoil the match too much. Good luck, Ayr.

25 minutes of madness from Muirhead. Hope he is happy with himself.

Try6Place

He'll be embarrassed watching himself on Sportscene. Outstanding away support, must be the nostalgia for the old terraces, and elusive fixture. Good effort in circumstances from Ayr.

Big Aero's head clearly gone with the unfortunate own goal and poor touch just before the tackle. Was surprised at folks shouting at the ref, Muirhead got up and immediately started walking off and not one Ayr player complained. Can't really comment on the rest of the game other than we did well to keep it to 2-1.

Gillespie bit of a headless chicken to be honest but did cover the whole pitch - match fit but maybe just not match sharp.

shuggie sproat

Sheer lunacy from Muirhead. They were there for the taking, just knew a money spinning tie was in the next round. How much has this cost Ayr?.

Quote from: Try6Place on February 09, 2020, 18:22:19 Wonder if he gets punnished...

Potentially losing his place to Roscoe got to be punishment enough. Slightly in Muirheads defence that Doohan should have come for the cross for the OG - watching it back in the highlights why is he rooted to his goal line - come out and punch it ffs. Muirhead totally lost the plot after the OG.

dickmalone

On the plus side Ayr held out well after Muirhead lost us the game.

Wasn't all that bothered about getting knocked out, we certainly dont need a midweek replay. Would much rather concentrate on the league games.
Hate playing the Ugly Sisters anyway !
