Ayr Utd v Ross County..
« on: December 10, 2018, 15:12:19 »
So the classic 6 pointer game.. win and go 4 points clear with a game in hand and the make the Ayr fans go even more mental with anticipation.

Lose and not the end of the world with the still the game in hand, but must prefer to have the points on the board so to speak.

With the Inverness game postponed, provides a chance for the injuries to clear, I'm guessing that Moore is still suspended so can't see past the same team as against Dundee Utd taking to the field on Saturday.

County fans don't seem to be very confident and Super Ayr should have taken at least a point in Dingwall so most likely a tense game. Nice early goal should settle the nerves and lead a comfortable 2-0 win for Super Ayr.

What about SRE turnstiles ? anyone got any news on repairs or will the same arrangements be in place, i.e. Ayr fans entry via Railway & North Terrace or will County have two many supporters to accommodate in the main stand?

Moore should be available I think, he missed Beith and Dundee Utd.

Oh, and the forecast looks wet and very windy... :-X

Good spot Tony. I was not sure if cup games counted, but yes was listed as a sub for the Inverness game.

Getting nervous for this game. Which Ayr team going to turn up.

Really hope for early goal, settle any nerves and would be great to be 2-0 at HT.

At the moment would settle for a draw but given the performance against Dundee Utd can't see why we can't win this. County have not exactly been performing well themselves recently so could be an edgy game.

It is extremely unlikely they will deploy the same tactics as Dundee United - not marking Shankland - but if we play as we did against Dundee United we will win and it would be great to absolutely horse them as well, thus eliminating any lingering doubt that we are genuine title contenders.

Given they will have only a handful of fans it would be great if we could get 2500+. With neither of the ugly sisters playing on Saturday maybe we can get a wee boost from neutrals just wanting to see a decent game of football.

With the news of shankland staying till the end of the season, unless of course we get offered stupid money then a win tomorrow is not a must but would very much get the fans believing this might actually happen.

We might not win the league but with every passing game a top 4 finish looks for much achievable.

I for one will probably stop looking at the bottom of the league post a win tomorrow and start looking at the teams around us. Top 4 finish here we come.  ;D

(Amazing how a small news story can you change your outlook for the season)

Disappointing not to win from 3 - 1 up but over the 90 minutes a draw was a fair result. Still top by a point and with a home game in hand. We could have done with Big Jamie today. Hopefully he, Mark Kerr and Alan Forrest will be available soon.

Good point Ian. Jamie's strength and Mark's composure would have helped when the going got tough today. Draw a fair result and we've lost nothing at the top of the league.

Very disappointed in the gamesmanship of the Ross County bench. Looked like about 12 people storming the touchline several times, looking to influence the referee.
