Ayr v Morton Game
« on: November 13, 2018, 08:47:43 »
Don't think anyone expects another 5 goal demolition of Morton this time round and Morton have had some decent results recently so who can guess how this game will go.

Still in optimistic mood, so will go for the win prediction and with Ross County & Dundee Utd not playing should be a nice wee cushion at the top of league (still feels very wierd saying / typing top of the league)

What about Moore or Moffat.. should Moffat start ?

I'm expecting a few neutrals to turn up to this given our form, the cracking weather forecast and lack of Premiership games.

I would say normally its all set up for a big fail but I have too much faith in this team to not get at least something.

Well I suppose that solves the Moffat/ Shankland or Moore/ Shankland argument for the next couple of games.

No wonder McCall gets frustrated. All the factors above plus we have the chance to go 7 points clear at the top of the Championship (yes, Championship) and 2005 people show up in the home end.

Can't see us sustaining an SPL campaign when so few people are interested

Noticed a few people recently checking  the team sheet when there's a goal, booking etc and there were very few empty seats in the main stand today when usually there plenty of spare seats.
People are slowly  coming back but. reversing decades of cynicism is a very hard task.

How do Hamilton and Livingston do it ?
We'd have much bigger crowds

Disappointing performance today but, hey, we're still top. Don't understand why Moffat didn't start. Shankland and Moore would have benefitted from his ball control and distribution. Forrest played well last week but wasn't brought on until time added on. Hopefully we'll be back to our best in two weeks time.

What Tony said but in Red AND Bold.

Can't be bothered looking but do recall a Cowdenbeath game at Somerset, when we were getting trousered AGAIN, when the decision was made to send a squad of Stewards onto the running track behind the goals, to keep the masses subjugated.

It will take a lot more than 14 games to lure in a lost generation.  In saying that there was a group of teenagers ( Boys and Girls ) in front of me Yesterday who I'd never seen before.  But it will take time.

As for the game.  Another clean sheet, with such a relatively poor performance.  Expectations and Outcomes continue to be on the rise.
