Ayr United under 20's sealed their first development league win of the season with a 4-0 win over Stranraer. Goals from Ryan Nisbet, Craig McGuffie, Andy Johnstone and Luke McCowan ensured a comfortable victory over a battling 10-man Stranraer side at Somerset Park.

After a scratchy opening 10 minutes, Ayr suddenly hit their stride. Sean McKenzie had the ball in the net after being played in by Michael Wardrope but his effort was adjudged offside. Four minutes later, a cross from the right by-line by Nisbet was well controlled with the chest by McKenzie, he then swivelled and powered a goal bound attempt on the half-turn that was blocked by a Stranraer defender.

United broke the deadlock after 24 minutes from the penalty spot. A deep corner to the back post found McKenzie who saw his header blocked on the line by an arm. Stranraer appealed in vain and were reduced to 10-men. Nisbet stepped up to take the penalty and sent the keeper the wrong way to give Ayr the lead.
