Ayr Utd Academy / News

Still no fixtures up for any teams on the site ?no news or info of a friendly for the 20 s at Maybole earlier this week ?Have you guys given up ? Is it solely walking fitba and toddlers camps ?Surely a full time club like ayr need a thriving youth set up for the future but if it's only a token effort surely the club should cut ties with this organisation

AUFC Talk / Who's job ?
« on: October 29, 2017, 21:40:15  »
Is it now to get out there and sell the hospitality boxes on match days?In for the first time yesterday after the game and the new bar and staff there  ,along with what seemed just the regulars. After our great start to the season ,the new launch of the hospitality ,on the back of a 5 nil win and a local derby and the place has no boxes filled other than the silver club regulars.By my reckoning about Potential 4000 quid lost to the club ,a lot of money when others are going out their way to donate etc.Back a few years ago it was made into a proper day out for punters with visits from players and Hugh Cameron and Dixie over regularly to talk to guests and make them feel wanted to come again.Come to think of it what do the other faceless directors actually do ?were any of them at Duncan's book launch on Saturday ?People will think this just another moan but can someone salaried at the club give us answers?as I don't see the point in the club taking back this facility but not selling it ?

AUFC Talk / Future
« on: July 29, 2017, 11:54:10  »
After our dream start to the season by the team what are the future aims of the club?Is this just a minor upturn or are the club really going for it to really push on ? Just wondering as we will never have such a great feel good factor amongst the local community or potential fans so are the club planning to kick on?Where for instance?do the directors have any plans to improve the stadium and facilities to let us cope with bigger crowds and entertain bigger clubs ?Any plans to get our own training facilities as I see Killie looking to open a new training arena somewhere.,and will we tie that up with the academy? Are the commercial department really going to get the finger out and get the funds in to keep full time football going ?if not why don't we appoint someone who will as I believe there is a vast potential income we are missing out on instead relying on raffles and donations as welcome as they are.Im not suggesting doom and gloom but instead I can see this as a final opportunity to really kick on as a club after all the mediocre years and don't want to sink back into oblivion as the Killie scum pull away from us again through lack of ambition and effort from the people in charge

AUFC Talk / Match programme
« on: July 20, 2017, 22:28:59  »
big improvement in the match programme for the Killie game although it couldn't get any worse! Front cover was superb a great photo and reminder to really rub it into their anoraks who will collect it .Just hope this will be the norm this season and people will actually buy it!Lets have more interviews and stories about the club ,players and fans and please get rid of that 2 page space filling drivel about the conduct policy !!The something in the Ayr column was terrible last season ,an instant turn off about other stuff and clubs that didn't concern us including photos of any old players from other clubs to fill space .Please keep it up guys and give us something to look forward to on match days I felt sorry for last seasons sellers flowing a dead horse.

AUFC Talk / Other directors

Would love to know what the other directors actually think of the state of the club ?are they happy with the facilities ,commercial side ,playing side ,manager, stadium ?Where do they think the club are going ?what are their plans ?Are they all zombies ? Or Lachlans lackeys ? Just wondering !

AUFC Talk / Next season
« on: April 16, 2017, 09:45:33  »
Good result for Stranraer yesterday hope they can stay up for our trip there next season.Just looking at the rest of the opposition and although Alloa Queen's Park and airdrie look like making the play offs I can't see the beating Dumbarton or raith but you never know.As for the rest trips to Albion rovers Forfar east fife and maybe Peterhead but hopefully they can lose a play off to Arbroath or someone.surely we reach play offs at least in that league and give ourselves a chance of promotion again next year.Unfortunately none of these teams will bring any fans apart from airdrie who usually bring a few to give our fans a doing ! so we are going to miss out on a wee bit of revenue but at least we won't have to open the Somerset road end or north terrace ,we can all be housed in the stand and enclosure and create a better atmosphere. The hospitality suite may be redundant also as I can't see it being an attractive day out except for the diehards .

AUFC Talk / Fiver to get in
« on: January 29, 2017, 15:49:37  »
Didn't exactly work did it ,our home support was the usual whilst the obnoxious deluded Morton fans got a cheap day out and they would have came anyway and paid 15 quid. Also do the local plod not take any interest ? Cars parked all around the stadium and double down Somerset road creating a bottleneck, whilst the stewards struggled to contain the Morton mob spoiling for trouble and no police presence outside the ground either ,total joke.No doubt we will see lots of plod again on an easy shift at Somerset charging a fortune for the privilege

AUFC Talk / why worry
« on: April 04, 2016, 11:23:25  »
Why worry if wr dont win the play offs because lets face facts the fans and certainly not the board dont want promoted. As  faans most are happy going to places like stenny and brechin and stranny ,we dont really want to be going to the bigger venues like raith.morton falkirk or queens etc and being humiliated. The board dont want to actually have to work harder to handle bigger crowds whilst the home support wont rise anyway. As for facilities and having any sort of plans for the future thats a no no.The academy maybe not prosper as youngsters will see no career path fom ayr except the juniors which is a shame since the academy has eent far but needs to have a big think if they want to take it to the next level.the 20s being runners up in a league with only another 7wee teams is no big deal. All in all ive endured it for years and will continue to support but lets face it the club aint gonny get any better.Just being realistic and i havent even touched upon the puddle or broken windows or toilets or the massive bulldozed rat infested pile of everything mounting up at the end of the car park.

AUFC Talk / Somerset

Somersets a piggery sang the wee Stranraer choir,I first heard that sung the day the ground record was broken when Rangers played in 1969 46 years ago.Apart from a few alterations nothing much has changed in fact it's probably worse to the shame of decades of directors and fans.Just wondering what the official thinking is amongst our present board and what plans they have if any to upgrade or improve if the aim is actually to move up the leagues and play to bigger crowds or is it important we don't go on a journey with Ian McCall ,staying down with the wee clubs where our facilities can cope !Anyone know ?

Going past our rundown home by train again I still see several of the big panes of glass at the side of the stand missing letting in the wind and rain thus making this area unusable and no doubt causing damage.Just wondered if it is club policy not to maintain the ground and just let it fall into further disrepair further sending out the message to all that the club don't give a Fek!Just wondering, does anyone know ?
