AUFC Talk / Home to Dunfermline.
« on: February 20, 2019, 15:20:16  »
Right.. going to be bold and say Super Ayr will return to winning ways and get the 3 points this weekend. No reason or justification other pure optimism plus it's a home game.

Looking at the bigger picture currently 10 points away from Inverness, so need to maintain that gap to ensure a top 4 finish.. before anyone shoots me down, would love to win the league but given the current status I would be totally pissed off, if we now finished outside the top 4. (not going to happen - positive thoughts)

AUFC Talk / AUFC Travel Club - Fans Bet.
« on: February 15, 2019, 09:51:18  »
The following has been posted on the AUFC travel club facebook page, personally not a betting person but willing to share for those that like a flutter.

Ayr United are delighted to announce a new partnership with FansBet.

The UK-based gaming firm offer a betting platform with a difference; one summed up by their very apt strap line “About Fans. By Fans. For Fans” which is very similar to our own ethos. Run by lifelong match-goers, they pride themselves as being the only bookmaker which promises to share a generous 50% of their net profits with fans, while maintaining rigorous standards towards safe, enjoyable, responsible gambling.
Fans are given the option to select the club they support when registering at; any Ayr United supporter who tags themselves to the club and selects Ayr United Travel Club when they join will mean that if their bets win they will succeed in the traditional way and receive their winnings, but uniquely any unsuccessful bets can still help us raise funds which we will split between the Travel Club and the AU 500 Fund.
David Alexander, FansBet Scotland Ops Manager said “Ayr United are having a great season and have brilliant backing from the fans. We are delighted to be supporting the fans in raising funds to continue that support and make donations to the club.”
Ayr United Travel Club Chairman, Jamie Garrett noted “Many Ayr United fans like to have a bet on a Saturday and all we’re asking is these people switch to FansBet, select the Travel Club when they sign up and help us raise funds which we will spend back on Ayr United causes ”
FansBet are partners with Supporters Direct Scotland and already have many impressive stories of giving back to and empowering fans, ranging from funding away travel, share purchases, backing safe standing projects and many more. You can read some of FansBet’s Giving Back stories on their blog. (
In addition to sharing 50% of their net profits, FansBet will also provide special bets on all Ayr United matches. These specials will be picked each week by one of our Travel Club members and will be exclusive to FansBet so keep an eye out for these.
Visit FansBet at to sign up or download the App. Don’t forget to select Ayr United AND Ayr United Travel Club as your branch.

AUFC Talk / Somerset Sleep Out.

Anyone signed up for the Somerset Sleep out ?

We have teamed up with the charity SeAscape to offer everyone a unique chance to spend a night at Somerset Park.
SeAscape focus on helping people in housing need. Those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
On Saturday, April 6, we are hosting a fundraiser to highlight problems encountered by rough sleepers.
Commercial manager Graeme Miller said “We had a meeting with SeAscape and it was eye opening to say the least hearing about the extent of homelessness we have here locally. As soon as the idea was spoken about I knew that our fans would absolutely jump at the idea of sleeping on our hallowed turf, and at the same time raising money for a great cause.
In fact I actually think it is something that will appeal to a lot more than just our supporters. It will be a great night and atmosphere with everyone there for the one cause.”
SeAscape assistant CEO, Kelsey Kane, said “We’re hugely excited about this as we think it’s a first for Ayrshire. Sleepouts are growing in popularity, but they tend to be big city events.
As an Ayr fan myself I was keen to approach the club with the idea and they were more than keen to come on board.
For fans of the club, sleeping under the stars at their stadium should be a real thrill however it is not just restricted to Ayr fans. We’d love to see as many people as possible attend and make a night of it.”
Participants will be asked to pay a £5 registration fee before fundraising and for more information and a welcome pack text SLEEP to 07418 314 300.

AUFC Talk / Cup Game - Auchinleck Talbot v Ayr Utd
« on: January 14, 2019, 13:00:17  »
I really hope we have more than 4 players on the bench and some of the injuries have eased up. I guess with a positive outlook any Ayr team should be good enough to win this tie, but would like to see the return of Shankland at least.

Wonder what odds for both Shankland's to score?

AUFC Talk / Inverness Caley V Ayr 12th Jan
« on: January 08, 2019, 13:13:26  »
No reason if we keep 11 players on the pitch this time, we can't get back to winning ways.

Will go for the lucky 0-1 away win.

Note - Seats available on Travel club & Bellrock buses.

AUFC Talk / January Window...
« on: December 20, 2018, 08:17:25  »
As always, can't really focus on other teams but the January transfer window is going to be interesting to see how the teams add / amend the squads in attempts to improve.

The biggest potential change will of course be will Dundee Utd under "new ownership: Dundee Utd - New Owner - Spending in Jan

As for Super Ayr. Time will tell if money talks and Shankland departs but to be honest, not sure where additional players required. Obviously if any players depart then replacements would be required, but given his current track record I actually have some faith in McCall to manage the squad during this up coming transfer window.

The 2nd half of the season may be more challenging but I see no reason of not finishing in the top 4 and take our chances in the play offs.

« on: December 16, 2018, 17:16:46  »
Really hope this twitter rumour is just that and Doohan is going no-where in January. Can't see the benefits of returning to Celtic unless of course he's going to get a game following Gordon's howler the other night  ;D then I would understand.

AUFC Talk / Ayr Utd v Ross County..
« on: December 10, 2018, 15:12:19  »
So the classic 6 pointer game.. win and go 4 points clear with a game in hand and the make the Ayr fans go even more mental with anticipation.

Lose and not the end of the world with the still the game in hand, but must prefer to have the points on the board so to speak.

With the Inverness game postponed, provides a chance for the injuries to clear, I'm guessing that Moore is still suspended so can't see past the same team as against Dundee Utd taking to the field on Saturday.

County fans don't seem to be very confident and Super Ayr should have taken at least a point in Dingwall so most likely a tense game. Nice early goal should settle the nerves and lead a comfortable 2-0 win for Super Ayr.

What about SRE turnstiles ? anyone got any news on repairs or will the same arrangements be in place, i.e. Ayr fans entry via Railway & North Terrace or will County have two many supporters to accommodate in the main stand?
