AUFC Talk / Wuillie Wallace

Sad to hear of the death of our former physio, 97years. 17 years at the club. A real character and nice man. A LEGEND.

AUFC Talk / Re: season tickets/AU500 player fund
« on: May 15, 2018, 21:15:54  »
Surely someone at the club can get season tickets on sale asap, even if commercial manager is on his hols?!
At the very least, get the details OUT NOW of when they will go on sale and prices etc.

All supporters seriously think about getting a season ticket (whether or not you can get to every game), it shows your support.
And every supporter should consider how they can help AU500 fund, whether regular standing order amount, every small bit helps, or one off donation . Forms available in shop. I've got mine, yet to complete.

Great work by manager and club, let's all ensure this is going to be the season we really progress, and ensure these players' loyalty is rewarded in spades.

AUFC Talk / Goodwill/AU500 Drive
« on: April 10, 2018, 08:55:02  »
Club should be trying everything to cash in on the current feel good factor, maybe make the AU500 more easily accessible to those who would make casual instant donations, couldn't there be a quick link on every website to make donations, also start off monthly contributions at what you can afford, 20, whilst not a lot, may be offputting for some, just saying that is reality. (I know I know, you can email them to be emailed back, but that is an unnecessary palaver, surely, it will put folk off bothering). Why not try contribution buckets in shop and hospitality, regular updates and communications. Try and reach the consciences of those who jump on the success bandwagon when there is a sniff of a title, then make their varying excuses why they don't go regularly to watch Ayr, work/family/distance /other commitments I could understand, but they can support the club's efforts in other ways. Why not make it easier for them and make everyone feel welcome and a part of the club? PR should be 24/7, not just every time we have "a game" coming up. :)

AUFC Talk / Toxic Somerset
« on: October 16, 2017, 19:58:54  »
Negatives: 1] Atmosphere, like a morgue.
2] Negativity. Constant carping of some is ruining the matchday experience , seriously thinking of
moving seats, as others have done, or not going . Players mentioning it, shameful. They must hate
                     playing at "home".
3] Failure to build on a lead.
4] Failure to see games out.
5] Poor defending of set pieces, usually costs us.
Positives:    1]? A bit of perspective required, we are still nicely tucked in second place.
2] We've got two up front.
3] We are creating chances galore.
                  4] Attendances are reasonable.
5] We have a decent squad of players, some who more than demonstrate the right attitude, commitment
and consistency. Why can't we get behind them?

AUFC Talk / Legends
« on: February 26, 2017, 15:02:49  »
Pity more wasn't made of some of the '87-'88 team being present yesterday, if you hadn't happened to glimpse them you would have missed them. Perhaps commercially we were too busy with the schoolkids, or don't recall the club's great servants. It would have been nice for them to be introduced to the crowd/ get a lap of honour etc.,mind you it would take a lot of doing to raise a cheer from our home support these days.what a shame Cally, Robert Connor, Henry Templeton, David Kennedy had to sit through that shameful fare, no wonder so many drift away from a club that doesn't seem to care much. # LEGENDS.

AUFC Talk / Hall of Fame
« on: October 31, 2016, 22:23:40  »
Do we still do Hall of Fame events? Who is in our Hall of Fame and who SHOULD be?

I nominate Danny Masterton. Possibly David Craig, Walker McCall, Johnny Doyle, while we're at it. No doubt plenty more will spring to mind.

Quick look says Hall of Fame  contains: Dick Malone, Rikki Fleming, Alex Ingram, Ally Macleod, Peter Price, Ian McAllister, John Murphy,Sam McMillan, Henry Templeton, Davie Stewart, Sanny McAnespie.

AUFC Talk / Shop Sale/May madness

Time to stock up on goodies from the shop, sale on prices slashed for rest of May!!!

AUFC Talk / Davie Sargeant
« on: April 11, 2016, 20:25:21  »
So Davie has decided to cover home games as semi-retirement. This guy has gone above and beyond the call of duty and best wishes to him. Good to see the folk at AUMedia appreciating him. Guess this means there will be no away coverage then, until we register on national press newsworthiness?! Good luck and thanks Davie .

AUFC Talk / Contracts

Hopefully Jamie Adams's is extended soon. Got loads of boos yesterday. Dunfermline couldn't cope with us.

AUFC Talk / Vandalism
« on: September 09, 2015, 22:00:36  »
:'( Our news oracle the AP, page 3 article says our stand was broken into and trashed during Sunday night, doors kicked in etc. Not good. Maybe a help that we have two away games, give them time to "sort it"...

AUFC Talk / Club news/newsletter
« on: September 03, 2015, 08:35:43  »
Any sign of newsletter starting up again? We are well into the new season, all gone quiet...
Been asking for ages about season ticket numbers.

AUFC Talk / Stranraer
« on: August 20, 2015, 22:01:42  »
At least we can now all focus on the league. The players, in however experimental a system, require our backing if we want to win the league/compete with the others, hic!Nice wee run down the coast...hopefully happier journey back than of late!
