Title: Player of the Year
Post by: shinglis on March 24, 2020, 11:26:46
Quote from: undefinedOur Player of the Year Awards 2020 were due to be held on Saturday April 25th at Arthur St Kitchen.

Due to Covid19 this event is unable to take place.

The current situation is hugely challenging for everyone ; our supporters, our sponsors, local business, and our football club. It leaves us in an extremely difficult predicament and we need our supporter's help now more than ever.

The financial implications to our football club of the current shut-down cannot be overstated.

Not only will we not have any income from home games for the foreseeable future, but we have had to cancel one of our main fundraising events of the season as well.

Commercial Manager Graeme Miller said :"We have a great need to raise funds due to this unprecedented situation however we wanted to come up with a way that would not just benefit ourselves, but also one of our sponsors and would be a unique opportunity for our fans to support the club.

Obviously our Player of the Year event can no longer take place however we are still going to sell tickets for it. For every ticket sold we will give a donation to Arthur St Kitchen, one of our main sponsors who are also being badly affected by the cancellation.

Buying a ticket also gives you a vote for your Player of the Year 2019/20 and Young Player of the Year 2019/20. When the votes are collated we will then buy all our trophies from Reid's Trophies, another big supporter of the club, and when possible present them to the players.

Finally every person that buys a ticket will receive one of these limited edition T Shirts.

These will never be for sale in the shop and only those buying a ticket will receive one.

When buying a ticket please use the box provided to give your vote for Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year and also the size of the T shirt you would like. Also you are able to purchase multiple tickets and if you choose to do so please note the different sizes of T shirts you would like."

We will keep this open to the end of April and we will order T Shirts on a weekly basis. Any help you can give us at this time would be hugely appreciated. To buy a ticket for the event please click here

Players eligible for Young Player of the Year are Ross Doohan, Daniel Harvie, Sam Roscoe, Luke McCowan, Jordan Houston, Stephen Kelly, Aaron Drinan and Connor Malley.

We would like to place our thanks to anyone able to help us in this difficult time. Further ways of supporting the club will be announced in the near future.

Thank you.

Anyone been able to get on to buy tickets ? I tried at the weekend on I pad, tried today on laptop but still don't get any further than the first page.

I go to the shop, click on the red button to buy tickets, then enter the number of tickets and then nothing. I have tried 1 ticket, 3 tickets but nothing happens

Am I doing something wrong, or are others having the same problem ?

I had the same problem, it wouldn't accept my order. Eventually managed it by googling ayrunitedfc.co.uk on my phone, and went to playeroftheyear, it eventually allowed me to fill in a form and send payment. Or contact info.@ayrunitedfc....good luck! ::)

I'm 70 years old and don't mind admitting it, though I strongly object to being labelled as elderly. I managed it no problem first time.

Delighted (but modest) Ayr supporter.

Just read elsewhere that 270 tickets have been sold so far
Good stuff and still plenty of time for more sales

That's great. Would like to see the club widen the net to occasional/ part time supporters/ wider public. At least those purchasing get something, votes and exclusive tee shirt. Cast the net further for good cause.

I wonder how the Player of the Year ticket sales are going? I'm sure all the supporters would love to have an exclusive t-shirt. Disappointed there is no mention of the initiative in the local rag.., should've saved my £1-50, although good blast from past item on aufc.I hear the Kilm*rnock version is always loaded with K*llie features and fan engagement. Could our club not do a deal with the sports editor who supports Ayr to publicise these things.(While we're at it. why not publicise other ways to help the club). I just wonder if everyone KNOWS about it???! Saturday April 25th deadline to vote for poty/ypoty, and a free exclusive t-shirt, £30. You know you want one.

It's all went a bit quiet, how's it going? Would just be good to see the club promoting these things to the finish line more. How are strip /shorts sales going, and how can we enter the signed strip raffle, maybe it's just a private thing.poty 25th, not long.

Seems we are at over 300 sold, hopefully with a week to go we could reach their £10,000 target. When will we be able to get our t-shirts?

was just reading, x 350 tickets bought by x297 fans, they will count the votes when they reach x400 sold, maybe could advertise it better, share it on different sites if you can,put in local paper.?. Surely we can do better than x 297 fans, even in hard times?!

I see they've sold x368 of the poty t-shirts, available to purchase until the weekend. Wish they would promote it better.
